It provides important information into the present condition of the body; in particular to the alignment of its joints and muscles. This is crucial to fitness, as corrective exercises can be prescribed to prevent potential injury or simply to counter the effects of a sedentary occupation.

Evaluation of standing and movement posture can be conducted on-site in as little as 20 minutes. The outcome however can be extremely important, as it will likely highlight reasons for any current injury issues as well as shed light on potential injuries. To articulate, faulty postures identify particular muscular imbalances. For example, males with tight hamstring muscles (back of thighs) suggest a weakness in the opposing muscle group allowing the hamstrings to adopt the shortened position experience when seated.
